I want to know the recipe for making an onion chutney at home. What all ingredients should be packed in making onion chutney.

Onion is a wonderful ingredient that balances the heat and tangs of any dish. To make onion chutney:-
Heat the oil in a pan and add 2 tablespoons of chana dal and urad dal into it. Saute till it gets brown. Add red chili and then chopped onion and 2-3 cloves of garlic into it. Keep on stirring for 5-7 minutes.
Let it gets cool at room temperature for some time and then grind the mixture with salt as per your taste and a teaspoon of tamarind.
To give a flavorful taste, heat the oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and crackle them, add a pinch of asafoetida and curry leaves into it. Mix the chutney and keep on a low flame. Add water and mix all the things well and off the flame.
Onion chutney is ready to serve with your favorite dishes.
