It feels helpless when the sink won’t drain. Clogged sink gives a pathetic feeling when the counter is full of dirty dishes and I'm waiting to get it drained. Calling plumber all the time is not possible. Please suggest the best trick to unclog the sink.

Hi Komal,

Whenever there is clogging in the sink, it seems the whole kitchen is dirty and unhygienic. Let's have a look and make it again working

  • Unbend a wire hanger and put it down the drain. Try to pull up the clog.
  • Pour 1 cup baking soda and ½ cup of salt to unclog the sink.
  • Boiling water also helps to down the drain.
  • If these hacks won’t work then, there might be a blockage in the P-trap.(elbow-shaped pipe). Food, debris, or grease maybe get stuck there. Clean that yellow shaped elbow pipe. It s easy to open and fix it up again.
