Walnuts are very famous for their 'distinguished' flavor and benefits. It is considered very healthy for human brain as it contains omega-3 fatty acids. It is also renowned for its cancer fighting properties. This 'walnut mint chutney' belongs to Kashmir and and is very famous for its unique taste, texture and color. This chutney contains mint leaves which are all-around famous for their cooling properties. Curd used in this chutney serves as a base for the chutney. It has got tons of flavors; its minty flavor coming from mint leaves or 'pudina patiyyan' and the famous Kashmiri red chilly powder's spiciness. Kashmir's chilly powder is famous for its spiciness and beautiful 'red' color. This chutney will prove to be a very good companion of your pakoras and other snacks. This chutney with your food will surely be like the star on Christmas-tree.
Ingredients for Walnut Mint Chutney Recipe
  1. Walnuts - 8
  2. Curd - 1 cup
  3. Mint leaves - (finely chopped) 1/4 cup
  4. Kasmiri red chilly powder - 1 tbsp (big)
  5. Salt - 1 tbsp (small)

Preparation Steps for Walnut Mint Chutney Recipe
  1. Remove the hard shells of walnuts.
  2. Mix curd, mint leaves, red chilly powder, salt and walnuts in 'mixture-grinder' and prepare a thick chutney.
  3. Decorate with coriander or mint leaves and serve.
 
While preparing chutney in 'mixture-grinder' take special care that walnuts are grinded properly. Do not grind the walnuts very finely.
