Vada pav recipe is a very popular West Indian recipe from the land of Maharashtra. People are generally seen eating vada pav on snacks shops. Vada pav can be served as a snack or as a breakfast recipe. The vada is prepared with potatoes and gram flour mixed with other spices. The prepared vada is then filled inside the pav. See how easy is to make the vada pav at home.
Ingredients for Vada Pav Recipe
  1. Potatoes - 4 nos, boiled
  2. Coriander leaves - 1 Cup
  3. Besan - 2 cups
  4. Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  5. Gingergarlic paste - 1 tsp
  6. Oil - for deep frying
  7. Cumin seeds (jeera) - 1 tsp
  8. Onions - 2 nos, chopped
  9. Salt - to taste
  10. Pav - 5 nos

Preparation Steps for Vada Pav Recipe
  1. Take the Besan, turmeric powder and salt in a bowl and mix well to form a mixture.
  2. Now, add some water to this besan mixture and to form a batter of medium consistency.
  3. Peel the boiled potatoes and mash them properly, preferably by hand.
  4. Add ginger=garlic paste and coriander leaves to the mashed potato and mix well. Make small balls from this mixture or mashed potatoes.
  5. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  6. When the oil is hot, dip each ball in the above prepared batter and fry the balls till they are golden brown in color.
  7. Your vada is ready, now split the pav from one side (keeping the base intact) and place the vada inside the pav. You can press and flatten the vada to fill entire vada surface.
  8. Your vada paav is ready, serve with tomato sauce or any other your favorite chutney.
