Shahi Paneer is a very famous and rich Punjabi dish. Shahi paneer is very much liked in all parts of the world. Here is the steps for this rich vegetarian shahi paneer recipe.
Ingredients for Shahi Paneer Recipe
  1. Paneer (cheese) - 250 gm
  2. Onion - ½ cup, chopped into strips
  3. Beaten curd - 1/4 cup
  4. Ginger - ½ inch piece, finely chopped
  5. Milk - 1/2 cup
  6. Tomatoes - 1.5 cup, finely chopped
  7. Cardamoms - 2 to 3 nos, crushed
  8. Green Chilies - 2 to 3 nos, finely chopped
  9. Red Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
  10. Garam Masala - ½ tsp
  11. Ghee or butter - 3 tsp
  12. Tomato Sauce - 2 tsp
  13. Water - ½ cup
  14. Salt - to taste
  15. FOR GARNISH - =========
  16. Grated Paneer - 2 tsp
  17. Coriander Leaves - 1 tsp, chopped

Preparation Steps for Shahi Paneer Recipe
  1. Take the paneer (cheese) and cut it into 1 inch cubes.
  2. Heat 1.5 tsp of ghee in a frying pan
  3. When ghee is hot, add the onion, green chili, ginger and cardamom to it. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes.
  4. After 2 to 3 minutes, add tomatoes to it and fry for 5 to 6 more minutes.
  5. Beat the curd properly in a bowl and add this beaten curd to the fried tomatoes and cook for 5 more minutes
  6. Now, take it out of the flame, add ½ cup of water and let it cool.
  7. Once it is cool, blend this mixture in a mixer to a smooth gravy paste.
  8. Now, heat the remaining ghee in frying pan and add the blended gravy to it.
  9. Add Garam Masala, Red Chilli Powder and tomato ketchup to this and boil the mixture until it turns to the tick gravy.
  10. Your gravy for shahi paneer is ready, take this gravy out of the flame and keep aside.
  11. Now, whenever you want to serve, heat the gravy, add milk and paneer cubes and let it boil for 3 to 4 minutes.
  12. Garnish with grated paneer and chopped coriander and serve your shahi paneer hot.
