I love this Paneer Butter Masala Recipe and I can eat Paneer Butter Masala almost every day. Paneer Butter Masala is prepared with smooth gravy that has all the goodness of Indian spices combined with cubes of cottage cheese. Paneer butter masala is best served with nan, or chapattis. Ingredients for Paneer Butter Masala Recipe
  1. Paneer (cheese) - 125 grams
  2. Tomato puree - 1 tsp
  3. Tomato - 1 nos, (grind to a fine paste)
  4. Yogurt - 3 tsp
  5. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  6. Onions - 2 nos, (grind to fine paste)
  7. Coriander (Dhania) Powder - 1 tsp
  8. Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
  9. Cloves - 3 nos
  10. Garam masala powder - ½ tsp
  11. Chilli powder - ¼ tsp
  12. Cinnamon stick - 1 nos
  13. Cashews - 1 tsp
  14. Butter or Oil - 5 tsp
  15. Coriander leaves - ½ cup, for garnish
  16. Salt - to taste

Preparation Steps for Paneer Butter Masala Recipe
  1. Take the cloves and cinnamon in a grinder and grind to form a fine powder
  2. Cut the half o the paneer into medium sized cubes, and grate the remaining paneer.
  3. Heat the oil (or butter) in frying pan on medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the paneer to it and cubes and fry on medium heat until they are golden brown. Keep the paneer pieces aside.
  4. In the remaining oil (or butter), add onion paste, ginger garlic paste and fry for 3 minutes on medium flame.
  5. Add tomato paste and puree and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Now add cashews, garam masala powder, salt, chilli powder, dhania powder, cumin powder, extra butter and masala powder from step 1 (cloves and cinnamon powder).
  7. Now add yogurt and keep stirring until the gravy becomes thick.
  8. When the gravy becomes thick, add grated paneer, fried paneer cubes and 1 cup of water and simmer for 5 minutes, until all the flavour is absorbed into paneer.
  9. Your paneer butter masala is ready, garnished with coriander leaves and serve hot with rotis (chapatis).
