Mysore Bonda is a south Indian dish. Mysore is the name of a place, which is situated in the south part of India. In Mysore, bonda is very famous recipe. It can be sweet or spicy in taste, depending on the individual's choice. Coconut is a primary ingredient in most South Indian dishes. I have also used small chunks of coconut here to enhance the flavor. The bonda is made up of the batter which includes all purpose flour, rice flour and baking soda. For enhancing the excellent flavor, you can add muster seeds, cumin seeds, coriander powder and curry leaves. For fluffy and soft bonda, you can add buttermilk or curd. Some chef also likes to add chopped onions, but it is optional. Before frying in oil, batter should be kept aside for rising. There are many variations available for making bonda.
