Preparation Steps for
Masala Puri (Indian puffed bread) Recipe
|
-
Take one large bowl and add wheat flour, salt, turmeric powder, hot oil, cumin seeds, cumin powder, and red chili powder.
-
Mix them very well and start adding water gradually.
-
Make somewhat hard dough than normal dough.
-
Knead this dough nicely and grease with oil. Keep aside for 5 minutes.
-
Make small balls out of this dough and press gently with your palms.
-
Roll out these balls on rolling pan, use dry flour for dusting if puri sticks to the surface.
-
Make out small circles from balls in medium thickness. If you will roll out puri very thin then your puri will become crispy instead of becoming soft.
-
Finish with all dough. Put your frying pan on high flame and add enough oil for deep frying.
-
Once your oil is heated properly put your pan on medium flame.
-
To check the oil is ready or not just drop a small piece of dough into the heated oil and if this dough turns its color immediately and come to the surface, it seems your oil is ready for frying the puri
-
Now add one by one puri into the oil, when it puffed from one side just change the side of the puri.
-
Cook till it becomes brown in color from both sides. Bring out them on paper towel to drain extra oil.
-
Finish with remaining puris and take them into serving plate.
-
You can enjoy this puri hot as well as normal also.
