Chicken lollipop is made from the inner segments of chicken wings. They are generally served as starters with any raita, dip or chutney. Kids usually enjoy this dish because of the convenient way of eating it. Similar to Kid's lollipop, this dish also has stick in the form of bone. Here I am presenting green chicken lollipop. To develop green color, I have used spinach paste, but in restaurants, many chefs prefer green food color for extra ordinary look, but it is harmful to health. Whether to use colors or not, is up to individuals. Before deep frying the chicken, you can marinate it in yogurt with egg, ginger-garlic paste, pepper powder, salt, soya sauce, red chili sauce (or tomato ketchup) and corn flour. If you want to avoid oily chicken, you can also grill it in microwave, but before putting chicken in microwave, wrap the bone sticks with aluminium foils.
Ingredients for Green Chicken Lollipop
  1. Chicken Lollipops - 10
  2. Spinach paste - 2 cups
  3. Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
  4. Green chili paste - 4 Tbsp
  5. Garlic Paste - 3 Tbsp
  6. Ginger Paste - 2 Tbsp
  7. All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
  8. Corn flour - 1/2 cup
  9. Salt - 2 Tbsp
  10. Oil - For frying

Preparation Steps for Green Chicken Lollipop
  1. For making batter: Blend spinach with help of food processor. Take one bowl and add spinach paste in it.
  2. Add grind ginger, garlic, green chili paste, salt and coriander leaves in spinach paste.
  3. Add all purpose flour and corn flour in spinach paste. Now add 1/4 cup of water and stir well.
  4. Marinate chicken lollipop in this paste for 1 hour at least.
  5. Deep fry it after 1hour or so. Serve with mint chutney.
 

Additional Tips :

  1. If chicken is being grilled, broiled or cooked on high heat, the bone should be wrapped in aluminum foil to stop it from burning.
