A raspberry pie is a delicious dessert in which fresh raspberries are main ingredients. In summer time this fruits are widely available. For making fresh raspberries pie choose ripe and firm berries from market. Raspberries will help you in healthy vision and strengthen your immune system. For making raspberries pie they are cooked with sugar when they combined with sugar they lose their tartness. This mixture of raspberries pie arrange in pie crust. Pie is a back dish and usually made of flour, Fat (butter or margarine), water and salt. Salt will enhance the flavor and also help to give brown color to pie crust. One thing is important that you should keep in mind always use chilled butter or margarine or shortening. That will stop the fat pieces getting creamed in to the flour. The filling is placed on a top of crust but always left open. Enjoy this flavorful dish.
Ingredients for Fresh Raspberry Pie Recipe
  1. All purpose flour - 2 cups
  2. Sugar - 2 cups
  3. Salt - 1/2
  4. Shortening - 3/4 cup
  5. Egg (lightly beaten) - 1
  6. Cold water - 3 Tbsp
  7. White vinegar - 1 Tbsp
  8. Quick cooking tapioca - 2 Tbsp
  9. Cornstarch - 2 Tbsp
  10. Cups fresh unsweetened raspberries (thawed) - 4 cups
  11. Butter - 1 Tbsp

Preparation Steps for Fresh Raspberry Pie Recipe
  1. Take a large bowl, mix all purpose flour, sugar (according to your taste) and salt then cut in shortening until mixture develops coarse crumbs.
  2. Crack the egg in it, add water and vinegar. Stir well until they moistened.
  3. Divide dough in half like, that one ball is little bit bigger than the other one; wrap the dough. Put them in refrigerator for 35 minutes or till dough become simple to manage.
  4. By the time, in other bowl, combine the sugar, tapioca, cornstarch and raspberries; let stay it for 25 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle some flour on surface; roll out bigger ball of dough in 6 to 8 inch. Take a pie plate and now transfer dough to plate. Add raspberry filling and butter to this pie plate.
  6. Now roll out remaining dough and fit top of pie now place it over the filling. Now spruce, close and tumble or flute the edges of pie. Cut slits from the top. With the help of brush grease it with butter and sprinkle sugar on it.
  7. Bake at 350° for 55 minutes, check in between the intervals of few minutes or until crust is golden brown and filling is bouncy. Let cool it on a wire rack. Your yummy pie is ready to serve.
 

Additional Tips:

  1. If you will not use thickeners, then your filling will be so runny so use thickeners like cornstarch or eggs, so when we cut a raspberry pie, it will maintain its shape. 
  2. Any other fruits of your choice can be used such as strawberries, blackberries, apricots or for making pie.
