Doenjang jjigae is one kind of soup which is well admired dishes in traditional Korean homes. Ingredients in these soups are zucchini, onions, tofu and potatoes. This soup is usually made differently as per each chef's idea. It also depends on which kind of ingredients is available without much fuss. The most important flavoring used in this soup, is a fermented bean paste known as Doenjang, is the main reason for the name of this soup. Doenjang is used in many Korean dishes as a important ingredient. Doenjang jjigae dish is made by steaming and then grinding soybeans into a paste form and then allow fermenting in dried rice stalks. The diced vegetables along with tofu, finely diced chili peppers and garlic are added to the pan. We have to cook the soup until the vegetables get tender.

Preparation Steps for
Doenjang Jjigae Recipe

Collect all vegetables and beef. Now cut the tofu and zucchini into cubes. Onion should be thinly sliced and cut the Beef into thin strips.

Take a small pot and preheat lightly. Add oil.

After heating the oil, sauté the slices of beef, soy bean paste, chili pepper flakes, and garlic over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Add anchovy broth and stir well to dissolve the soy bean paste.

Cover it and boil on medium high heat for 5 minutes.

Add the onion, tofu, zucchini, which we cut before and chili pepper. Boil for an additional 10 minutes.

Add scallion when 2 minutes is remaining.

Serve with rice and enjoy this colorful dish.
