Dal Fry is a Punjabi recipe and very popular recipe in whole world. Below are the preparation steps for this tasty dal fry recipe.
Ingredients for Dal Fry Recipe
  1. Toovar Dal - 1 cup
  2. Water - 2.5 cups
  3. Onions - 3/4 cup, chopped
  4. Oil - 3 tbsp
  5. Garlic - 1 tsp, chopped
  6. Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
  7. Ginger - 1 tsp, chopped
  8. Green Chillies - 1 tsp, chopped
  9. Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  10. Tomatoes - 1 cup, chopped
  11. Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
  12. Coriander Leaves - 3 tsp, chopped
  13. Salt - to taste

Preparation Steps for Dal Fry Recipe
  1. Take the dal in a large pan and wash it well until the water is clear. Make sure to pick and remove any stones from it before wash.
  2. After wash, soak it in 3 cups of water for 30 minutes.
  3. Now in the same water, pressure-cook the dal until it is fully cooked.
  4. Now, take the oil in a frying pan and heat it.
  5. When the oil is hot, add the chopped ginger, chopped garlic, chopped onion, chopped green chillies and cumin seeds to it.
  6. Fry it on a medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes. Keep the mixtures stirring periodically.
  7. Now, add the chopped tomatoes, chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt to it.
  8. Fry this again on a high flame for about 3 minutes.
  9. After frying for 3 about minutes pour this mixture into the cooked dal and mix it thoroughly and your dal fry is ready now.
  10. Garnish it with chopped coriander leaves and server hot.
