Everyone likes to eat corn in rainy season. Some people like it roasted and some boiled. But making a dish with corn adds up more fun. You can do so much with corn, make soup, cheese corn balls and many more things but my favorite are corn potato tikkies. They are your best companion when you are sitting back in your chair and watching the rain from your window. They contain lots of ingredients and a very rich taste. If you are a fitness-freak, then rather than deep-frying you can also cook them in microwave for a more healthy touch. Potatoes and American corn are main ingredients, whereas corn flour and roasted chickpea or gram powder are used to to hold all the ingredients together so that your tikkies wouldn't part in pieces while deep-frying. Enjoy these lovely tikkies with mint chutney or ketchup and let them make your first monsoon showers extra special.
Ingredients for Crispy Corn Potato Tikki Recipe
  1. Potatoes (Boiled) - 100 g
  2. American Corn - 250 g
  3. Cottage Cheese - 30 g
  4. Ginger (Grated) - 10 g
  5. Green Chillies (Chopped) - 5 g
  6. Kitchen King Masala - 1 tsp
  7. Chat Masala - 1 tsp
  8. Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  9. Corn Flakes - 2 tbsp
  10. Salt - 1 tsp
  11. Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
  12. Mace Powder - 1 tsp
  13. Cornflour - 2 tbs
  14. Roasted chickpea/gram powder - 2 tbs
  15. Bread Slice - 2
  16. Oil - As per need (for deep frying)

Preparation Steps for Crispy Corn Potato Tikki Recipe
  1. Cut corners of bread slice and soak it in water. Now take it out of the water and squeeze it and mash it.
  2. Mix all the ingredients (boiled potatoes, American corn, cottage cheese, grated ginger, chopped green chillies, chat masala, kitchen king masala, turmeric powder, salt, cardamom powder, mace powder, cornflour, roasted chickpea powder and mashed bread)
  3. Make tikkies from the mixture.
  4. Roll tikkies one by one in powdered cornflakes and deep=fry them in hot oil.
  5. Serve hot with tomato sauce or green chutney.
 
Add Maida or flour to tikki mixture if it brokes while deep frying.
