I am a fond of Indo-Chinese food. And I am sure you will fall in love with this chilli fish recipe if you too like Indo-Chinese food as do I. Chilli fish is a Chinese recipe and very popular in whole India as well other parts of the world. See the chilli fish recipe here.
Ingredients for Chilli Fish Recipe
  1. Fish - 600 grms, Boneless and skinless, Cut into cubes
  2. Rice flour - 4 tsp
  3. Corn flour - 4 tsp
  4. All purpose flour - 4 tsp
  5. Onion - 2 nos, medium, diced
  6. Green Chilles - 4 nos, finely chopped
  7. Green bell pepper - 2 nos, diced
  8. Ginger - less than 1 inch, minced
  9. Garlic cloves - 8 nos, minced
  10. Black Pepper powder - less than ¼ tsp
  11. Soya sauce - 1 tsp
  12. Fish sauce - 1 tsp
  13. Ajinomoto - ½ tsp (optional)
  14. Red chilli powder - 1.5 tsp
  15. Lime juice - 1 tsp
  16. Oil - for fry
  17. Water - 4 tsp
  18. Green onions - 4 tsp, chopped (optional for garnish)
  19. Salt - 1 tsp for marinade

Preparation Steps for Chilli Fish Recipe
  1. Take fish in a large bowl, add red chilli powder, fish cubes, lime juice, rice flour, corn flour, all purpose flour and 1 tsp salt.
  2. Sprinkle 2 tsp of water and mix well to make sure that the flours are well coated on the fish cubes. Set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat 5 tsp of oil in a skillet over medium heat; when hot the oil is hot, add the marinated fish cubes to it and fry for a few minutes. Keep stirring gently, make sure that fish cubes are not messed or not stuck with the pot. When the fish are well cooked, take them out of the oil and keep aside.
  4. In the remaining oil add 1 more tsp of oil and heat on high flame.
  5. When the oil is hot, add the diced bell peppers, diced onions, chopped green chilles, minced ginger and garlic and stir fry for a few seconds.
  6. Add soya sauce, fish sauce, black pepper powder, ajinomoto and salt to the skilled and stir continuously. Make sure that bell peppers should remain crispy, don’t overcook.
  7. Now, sprinkle 4 tsp of water and mix well; add the above prepared fish and chopped green onions to the skillet and mix well. Stir fry the fish until they are dry.
  8. Your chilli fish is ready, serve hot along with rice, fried rice or noodles. Chilli fish can also be used as a good appetizer.

Rice flour is added just to give a crispy feel. Its an optional ingredient. Chili fish will have almost same taste if you ommit rice flour.

Why we add rice flour in the chilli fish i think its not so taste.pls tell me why we add it.
