Cheese Macaroni Recipe is a famous south Indian recipe. Here are steps for preparation of this delicious cheese macaroni recipe.
Ingredients for Cheese Macaroni Recipe
  1. Low fat cottage cheese - 12 ounces (340 gram)
  2. Elbow macaroni - 4 cups, cooked
  3. Low fat sour cream - 8 ounces(225 gram)
  4. Low fat cheddar cheese - 2 cups, shredded
  5. egg whites - 2 nos
  6. Skimmed milk - ½ cup
  7. green onion - 1 nos, chopped.
  8. Butter flavored cooking spray - as needed
  9. Bread crumbs - ¼ cup, dry
  10. pepper - ½ tsp
  11. salt - ¾ tsp or to taste
  12. Paprika - ¼ tsp
  13. oregano sprigs - to garnish, fresh

Preparation Steps for Cheese Macaroni Recipe
  1. Mix the cottage cheese and sour cream and blend it well in an electric blender till smooth
  2. In this prepared cottage cheese mixture, add the macaroni, Low fat cheddar cheese, Skimmed milk, green onion, salt, pepper and egg whites;
  3. Take a 2-quart casserole and coat it with cooking spray. Put the above mixture into this casserole
  4. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs and paprika and then coat with cooking spray.
  5. Cover it and bake in oven at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (176 degrees Celsius) for about 30-35 minutes.
  6. After 35 minutes of covered baking, uncover it and then bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes.
  7. Cheese Macaroni is ready, garnish with fresh oregano sprigs and serve.
